Atikkam is continuously developing special projects in particular areas of interest.
These may focus on applied research, promote a philanthropic cause or raise awareness of important issues.
The following special projects are currently in development:
The Marothodi Institute for Archaeology in Africa (MIAA)
The primary goal of MIAA is to educate and empower African communities through heritage-based initiatives. We believe we can help protect the archaeology of Africa by communicating the value of the continent’s heritage resources.
Reptile Watch International (RWI)
RWI is concerned about the illegal trade in reptiles across the globe, and the appalling conditions that reptiles often endure during transportation. We aim to expose illegal practices and raise awareness about reptile welfare.
Reach for Learning
Reach for Learning is a initiative that explores the role that technology-enhanced learning can play in making education accessible to communities who face economic, geographical or social barriers. We are initially focusing on communities in India, Russia, China and South Africa.
